Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper, Hardik Pandya seems to be leading the team phenomenally well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Surprisingly, not a lot of people from the cricketing fraternity expected him to do this well in the first two matches of a high-pressure tournament as a captain. Former English off-spinner Graeme Swann praised the captaincy of Hardik Pandya saying that he looks calm and composed.
Hardik Pandya has been one of the most talked-about cricketers in the recent past. He missed competitive cricket due to injury issues since November last year. He did not do well in the T20 World cup which took place in the UAE and hence, garnered a lot of criticism for his performance in the Indian team. He was also released by his former franchise Mumbai Indians after IPL 2021. However, Hardik Pandya joined Gujarat Titans as a skipper and he has been looking great as a leader.

The 28-year-old all-rounder has led his side from the front and he has had decent performances with both bat and ball. In the two matches that he has played so far, Hardik has picked 1 wicket and scored 63 runs in the tournament so far. He has led his side to two consecutive victories which weren’t on the expected lives.
Former English off-spinner Graeme Swann while speaking to Star Sports said, “He is like a kid who has been made captain of a U-15 team. Boy! Isn’t he doing it well, I was very, very impressed with his captaincy? He has got an aura and personality; he owns himself to leading other men. He looks calm, he always looks calculated”.

Talking about the captaincy of Hardik further, Graeme Swann added, “His bowling itself is good. We are never allowed to ask about his bowling and he has put all the talks about his fitness to rest. He has worked hard on his fitness; he has gotten back to a 100 percent. He was bowling quick. He was very, very impressive. He is one of the main reasons why Gujarat has put on 2 wins already.”
