Former England spinner Graeme Swann expresses his views over ECB banned cricketer Ben Stokes. Swann believes that Stokes is still in the English squad and can play at any time.
“I can’t see any reason where he’s not. You know, if he’s not in court then he should be out there. He’s not been charged then he should be playing for England,” said Swann.
Star all-rounder Stokes was having a good time in International cricket since last two-three years but a sudden incident shook his career. He was found in a brawl outside a nightclub in Bristol on 25 September, where he punched a man around 25 times in a minute. Thus, he spent that night in prison and ECB banned him till the further notice.
“He’s one of the best players in the world and I fully expect him to be playing. I think it pushes it towards England being favourites if I’m honest, just because of how good he is,” off-spinner concluded.
The Ashes will undergo from November 23 in Brisbane and chances of his arrival are quite bleak. Though, a sudden injury to Steven Finn can force the board to rethink over his presence.
