The second T20I between India and Australia has already been hyped up by the Guwahati folks and curator of Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Mukut Kalita has revealed that the match will be an interesting one for the spectators since the pitch is expected to bring a runfest.
As quoted by PTI, Kalita said, “Our best effort is to make the match memorable by making a wicket full of runs. We have seen this wicket favor spinners in the domestic cricket but for tomorrow, I hope it would produce a lot of runs.”
Mukut has been managing the pitch conditions at the stadium since its inception and the second T20I will be the maiden international match on Tuesday of the stadium. As it has been a story in this ongoing Australian tour, there’s forecast of rain for the much-awaited encounter. However, Kalita reckons that there shouldn’t be any issue since the high sand content in soil help in better drainage system.
The curator concluded, “We just cover the wicket in case it rains, that’s enough as the high sand content facilitates drainage in no time.”
