Young Australian batsman Peter Handscomb is very clear about his team’s approach in the coming days of Ashes and said they will keep talking despite infamous ‘Headbutt’ incident involving Cameron Bancroft and Jonny Bairstow.
“It’s something that’s part of the game, it always has been, it always will be. If there’s a moment that we can exploit someone’s mental capabilities well then yeah, we’re going to go about it,” Handscomb told reporters ahead of Adelaide Test.
He further added to his saying “There are moments you pick and choose and obviously the right words. There’s a line and we’ve just got to make sure we don’t cross it.”
The middle-order knows Bairstow personally since his County Cricket instinct with Yorkshire. Talking about this, he quoted “When I played with him at Yorkshire we had a great time together. I really like Jonny, we got along really well but it’s a different ball game now. I’m not trying to make him (Bairstow) feel good out there. That’s not my job.”
Australia has gained a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series against England with a commanding victory in Brisbane by 10 wickets.
