Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has lauded Ashish Nehra for his dynamic coaching style, crediting him as a key force behind the rise of the Gujarat Titans in recent IPL seasons. Speaking on JioHotstar, Harbhajan highlighted Nehra’s hands-on approach, comparing him to a football manager constantly engaged with his players during matches.

“Ashish Nehra is the only person who makes the atmosphere comfortable anywhere, anytime. Wherever he goes, he ensures everyone feels at ease,” Harbhajan Singh said, underlining the coach’s ability to build a positive and inclusive dressing-room culture.
What sets Nehra apart, according to Harbhajan, is his relentless involvement during games. “He is like a football coach. He never sits still. Throughout the match, he keeps interacting with players, guiding them and keeping them mentally switched on,” he added. This constant communication, paired with tactical clarity, has helped the Gujarat Titans maintain consistency and cohesion on the field.
