Mumbai Indians (MI) has been witnessing a lean patch in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They set an unwanted record of losing 8 consecutive matches in this season itself. No team in the history of the league has lost 8 matches consecutively. The team had a hot and cold auction as their squad failed to impress the fans and the experts.
 The team spent a whopping amount of INR 15 CR on the left-hand wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan in the mega event. Rohit Sharma-led side is at the bottom of the points table with only six points, as they have won only three matches so far in the 12 game they have played in IPL 2022.

Harbhajan Singh, the former Indian off-spinner has been associated with local broadcasters Star for a couple of years now. Singh backed finisher Tim David and Indian middle-order batter, Tilak Verma, to represent Mumbai Indians for a decade. The veteran named Tilak Verma is his choice for the future captaincy of MI. The young southpaw is the highest run-getter for MI in IPL 2022.

While commentating on the game, former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh said, “The thing is right. He has the potential, and we will see him play for Mumbai Indians for many years to come. Tilak Verma alongside Tim David too. I think Tilak will be the future captain for Mumbai Indians.”
