Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently hit the headlines for his aggressive response to a troll on X (formerly Twitter). It all happened after a social media user shared an undated clip of Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam walking straight into the pavilion, ignoring the possibility of an interview after the match in the ODI World Cup 2024 in India.

The user captioned the post and claimed that Babar was deliberately ignoring former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who was supposedly seeking an interview for an interview. “When @IrfanPathan begs Babar Azam for an interview and he refused,” the user wrote.

After seeing the video, Harbhajan Singh was quick to jump to his rescue and correct the wrong information. He pointed out that the interviewer in the clip was not Irfan Pathan and slammed the user for spreading wrong information. Now, Harbhajan said that the people should at least verify their facts before posting this kind of claim.

“Where is @IrfanPathan in this video? Bolne ki tameez to aap logo ko pehle hi nahi thi. Ab aankho se dikhna bi bandh ho gya kya? Waise bi agar angreji mai swal pooch liya to pange pad jayenge.”. “You guys never knew how to speak properly, and now it seems like you guys have lost your ability to see as well. If they had asked a question in English, you would have had problems),” Harbhajan Singh tweeted, venting his frustration.

In another similar incident, Harbhajan Singh took on a Pakistani journalist on X who tried to mock him regarding his stance on India’s participation in Champions Trophy 2025. Now, the ex-cricketer had come out in support of the BCCI’s decision not to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. The Pakistani journalist posted the scorecard from 2006 where Shahid Afridi had smashed four sixes in a row against Harbhajan Singh during India’s tour of Pakistan to embarrass him.

He took no provocation lightly. He hit back, saying cricket has wins and losses and such incidents are a part of it. He added a pointed remark at the end to underline what he had said. “No, not for this. Cricket Mai Jeet har lagi rehti hai. I will tell you the real problem is this. Check the photo. Now get the F out of here. F ka Matlab samaj aa gya hoga ya samjau? F means your name. Please don’t think what you are thinking about the meaning of F. You know what I mean, peace,” Harbhajan wrote, making his point clear while maintaining a semblance of civility.

These interactions show how Harbhajan Singh has never been one to back off while defending himself or his colleagues from miscommunication and false attacks, and he does so in a rather sharp-witted way.
