Hardik Pandya was recently seen arriving at the Mumbai airport amid the temporary suspension of IPL 2025 due to rising security tensions across the country. Accompanying him was UK-based singer and rumoured girlfriend Jasmin Walia. The two were captured by cameras exiting the terminal, just moments after the BCCI officially announced that the tournament would be paused for a week in light of the developing situation along the India-Pakistan border.

While Pandya headed straight to his car, Jasmin Walia appeared to go her own way. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians team bus was parked nearby as players, their families, and support staff disembarked. Among those spotted were Tilak Varma, Mitchell Santner, Corbin Bosch, and several team members with their partners and children, all likely returning home amid the abrupt halt in the season.

The Mumbai Indians were originally scheduled to fly to Dharamsala on the evening of May 7 for their match against Punjab Kings on May 11. However, following India’s military operation “Sindoor” and the subsequent closure of the Dharamsala airport due to heightened alert, their travel plans were disrupted.

Initially, there was talk of relocating the fixture to Mumbai, but later it was decided to stick with the original schedule and shift the venue to Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. MI had already reached Ahmedabad before being asked to return to Mumbai after the BCCI’s suspension order.

The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals clash in Dharamsala was also called off midway due to air raid warnings and reports of drone activity near the border. With rising tensions and increasing threats, the BCCI held an emergency meeting on Friday to evaluate the league’s future.

“The BCCI has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing IPL with immediate effect for one week,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed in a statement. “We will announce the revised schedule and venues after consulting all relevant authorities.”
