Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper, Hardik Pandya wasn’t happy with his bowler Darshan Nalkande for going off the planned bowling route as he allowed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Rahul Tripathi to hit a boundary on the front foot during the 21st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Both these sides came into this match with opposite fortunes as GT came in with three wins out of three matches, while SRH registered their maiden win this IPL season against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last match.
SRH skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to field first. Gujarat Titans only managed to put 162/7 in 50 overs thanks to 50* from skipper, Hardik Pandya who hit 1 six and 4 fours, and Abhinav Manohar’s fiery knock of 35 in 21 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. During his knock, Hardik Pandya became the fastest Indian to 100 sixes in the IPL, breaking the record of Rishabh Pant.

GT bowlers started really well as the SRH openers Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma struggled to get the ball to the boundary. However, Sharma broke loose as he smashed 42 runs in 32 balls with 6 fours to his name. His wicket was taken by Rashid Khan, who had him caught by Sai Sudharshan near the boundary.
Williamson was then joined by Rahul Tripathi and Tripathi was offered a freebie by Darshan Nalkande in the 10th over. He had given just 4 runs in the first four balls, Nalkande bowled a full ball outside off-stump and Tripathi gladly drove it superbly on the up through extra cover to the rope.
