Hardik Pandya Lost The Honorary Membership Of Khar Gymkhana

Currently, the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is facing a very hard time in his life. The 25-year-old pace-bowling all-rounder has now lost the honorary membership of Khar Gymkhana – a reputed sports club.

Recently, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul, the two Indian cricketers appeared in the Indian talk show “Koffee with Karan” that is hosted by the famous Bollywood producer and director Karan Johar. In that show, both had some nasty comments as many have interpreted as misogynistic and sexist remarks. For those comments, both have been hugely criticised by the Indian fans.

Later, the duo has apologised to the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) but the board didn’t feel satisfied with their apology and suspended both of them with the immediate effect. They have now returned to India to face the inquiry process.

In this fiasco, Pandya has recently lost his endorsement deal with Gillette – the leading shaving blade brand.

Now, he has lost the honorary membership of Khar Gymkhana. According to Khar Gymkhana’s honorary general secretary Gaurav Kapadia, the sportspersons can earn this honorary membership from the club.

Kapadia recently told PTI, “The three-year honorary membership was given to Hardik Pandya in October 2018. But the club’s Managing Committee Monday evening decided to revoke the membership.”

On the other hand, another club official reported that the committee has decided to revoke his membership after observing the present negative circumstances against Pandya.

Both Pandya and Rahul were in the squad of ongoing three-match bilateral ODI series against the hosts Australia. But due to their suspensions, they have been removed from the squad while the Vijay Shankar has been added as the replacement of Pandya.

On the other hand, both were are also in the limited-overs squads for the next tour in New Zealand, where the five-match ODI series will begin on 23 January and the three-match T20I series will begin on 6 February. However, after their suspensions, the uncapped Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar have replaced Rahul and Pandya respectively for the New Zealand tour.
