On Thursday, world‘s best finisher MS Dhoni along with Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has left the cricketing fraternity amused with a match-winning 100-run stand for 8th wicket against Sri Lanka in Kandy.
Team India had a dream start to their innings as both the openers put up a 109-run partnership for India. But the middle order collapsed drastically. Even the skipper Virat Kohli failed to read the wrong’un of Akila Dananjaya.
Dhanajaya put the dull tour of Indian to live with his 6 quick wickets which resulted in a collapse for India from a strong position of 109 without loss to a tense situation of 131/7. Then came Dhoni, who controlled the game and supported Bhuvneshwar for his maiden ODI fifty yesterday.
Surprisingly, Harsh Goenka, who was the co-owner of the Rising Pune Supergiant and an ardent Dhoni critic, took to Twitter and praised the effort of MS after the match. Goenka criticized Dhoni pretty harshly during the IPL 2017 for Mahi’s diminishing batting abilities and now the former Indian captain has given a full and final reply to all his critics with his much-needed knock.
