It got a bit heated after the Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Tuesday as Riyan Parag and Harshal Patel were seen getting engaging in a heated exchange after the 20th over. Harshal bowled the last over the of the innings in which Parag amassed as many as 18 runs in the over with the help of a four and a couple of sixes, one of which came off the last ball.

Riyan Parag ended the first innings with a six-over cow corner. The RR batter thus ended the innings with his unbeaten knock of 56 off 31 balls and seemed to be walking off the field at first. However, he then turned around and started engaging in a heated conversation with Harshal Patel, who was held back by a member of the RR support staff.

There has been no clarity over the topic of the argument as the host broadcasters cut the feed to advertisements almost as soon as images of the exchange surface. However, the feed continued for a few seconds more in the Hindi broadcast. Some words were also exchanged between a few players of both teams when they were leaving the field.

Rajasthan Royals managed to reach a defendable score of 144 for 8 after being asked to bat first in Pune on Tuesday. Josh Hazlewood (2/19), Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva (2/23), and Mohammed Siraj (2/30) picked up two wickets each to stifle the Royals’ batting line-up. Riyan Parag single-handedly took his team to a respectable total with his unbeaten half-century, which is his highest score in IPL.

The total was good enough for RR in the end as they won the match in the end. None of the RCB batters managed to get going and they were always behind the 8-ball. Even after the game which RCB eventually lost by 29 runs despite chasing a modest target of 145 runs, Harshal Patel barred himself from shaking hands with Riyan Parag as the banter continued.
