Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Special General Meeting was deformed by drama on Sunday. Former India skipper Mohd Azharuddin has claimed that he was embarrassed by the HCA officials, and was made to stand outside the RGIC Stadium for more than an hour.
According to the reports of TOI, some of the HCA members suspected President G Vivekanand’s move to bar Azhar from attending the meeting. Talking about the same, Azhar said, “When there was a ban, I did not enter HCA and since BCCI has cleared me, you cannot stop me from attending the meeting.”
Apart from that, HCA again failed to pass the Lodha panel reforms, but the president claimed that it was ‘unanimously passed’. Also, it is believed that a majority of the officials were not in favor of adopting the recommendations, and demanded that there be more transparency in the affairs of the board.
Talking about HCA further, Azhar said, “Everything in HCA has become undemocratic. We are making efforts to clean up the mess. Many leagues are stopped abruptly without reason. No one can question my loyalty to Hyderabad and to HCA. I am here to give back something to the game. I don’t want players to suffer. I am thankful to all members who helped me attend the meeting after I was prevented from doing so initially.”
