During the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, a major blunder by SRH wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen gave Mumbai Indians batter Ryan Rickelton a second chance. The incident occurred during the 7th over, with Zeeshan Ansari bowling to Rickelton.

On the fifth ball of the over, Rickelton, who had failed to score off the previous three deliveries, slapped the ball towards cover. It raced quickly to Pat Cummins, who was positioned at cover. Cummins moved swiftly to his right and took an excellent catch, giving Ansari his first wicket and leaving MI in a spot of bother after losing both their openers.

However, as Rickelton began his walk back to the dressing room, the third umpire reviewed the decision. The call was reversed when it was discovered that Heinrich Klaasen had his gloves in front of the stumps when the ball made contact with the bat. This meant the catch was deemed illegal, and the delivery was called a no-ball.

The error from Klaasen was a costly one, as Rickelton was handed a reprieve. Ansari, who had been celebrating his first IPL wicket, was visibly disappointed, as the no-ball decision meant he had missed out on an important breakthrough for his team.
