Yuzvendra Chahal gave a funny statement after Yuvraj Singh hit him for three consecutive sixes on Thursday. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner was handed over the ball to dismiss Mumbai Indians’ (MI) batting. However, the dangerous man Yuvraj Singh started slowly and was on 5 off 8 balls when Yuzvendra Chahal came on to bowl the 14th over and Yuvraj opened his arm hit three maximums.

Yuvraj’s batting was reminding people of India’s game against England during the T20 World Cup in 2007 when he had smashed Stuart Broad for six over-boundaries in an over. Yuvraj’s first six was over mid-wicket region while the second went straight down the ground. The third one was the glorious lofted shot towards long on and thus the third consecutive sixes were hit by him.

But it was Chahal, who had some other plans. The fourth ball was a googly and Yuvraj misjudged that. He was trying to hit another maximum but ended up giving a catch to Mohammed Siraj at long off. His 12-ball 23 runs knock came to an end with this hit. However, put into bat, Mumbai Indians (MI) put up 187 on board for 8 after 20 overs.

While chasing, the Royal Challengers Banglore got off to a steady start by Parthiv Patel and captain Virat Kohli. After Patel’s dismissal, AB de Villers and Kohli added 49 runs. But Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga made the run chase difficult. However, Malinga defended 17 runs in the final over and guided Mumbai Indians to their first win of the IPL season whereas RCB lost their second consecutive game.

After the game, in the post-match presentation, Chahal had commented that he was feeling like Stuart Broad when Yuvraj Singh was hitting sixes.

“When he (Yuvraj) hit three sixes, I felt like Stuart Broad. You know he is a legend batsman and I backed myself. I had to bowl a bit up, might be a chance to get him out because it is a smaller ground. So that time, I thought of bowling my best delivery and he got sixes. That you cannot help and hence I bowled a wider googly,” said Yuzvendra Chahal.

Meanwhile, Broad replied in a funny way on Chahal’s comments. After IPL’s official Instagram page post the video of Chahal, Broad commented, “Hope he feels like me in 10 years time after 437 Test wickets,” wrote Broad.
