If Indian team whitewashes the Aussies then they will finish with 122 points whereas the loser will come down to 113 points. But if the Australians clean sweeps the hosts, they will also reach 122 points but the men in blue will come down to 112 points.

Considering a different scenario where any of these teams manage to wind up the series 4-1, the winner will gain 3 points while the loser to lose 3 points to their current tally, which will take them the winner to 120 and the other side will end up with 114 points.

If every game will come out with a result then the final scenario comes out is that any of these team will finish the series 3-2. In this case, the winner will gain one point and the loser will lose one, which means the former will take away 118 points and the latter will have 116 points.

If Indian manages to win 3-2 then the team swap their rankings whilst if Australia manages a 3-2 win then there will be no change in the rankings.
