The premier Indian bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav have been rested for the third and the final Twenty20 International between India and Windies, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Friday. As a replacement, the Punjab pacer, Siddarth Kaul has been drafted into the side for the final match of the series which will be staged at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Sunday.
The Indian team management has decided to do so in order to keeper the trio fresh for India’s tour to Australia which begins with a three-match T20I series on 21 November followed by four Tests and three ODIs. The trio is an integral part of the side in across formats and the team management felt that they should get some ample rest before the marquee tour begins.
BCCI’s press release read: “The decision has been made to allow the trio to be in the best physical condition ahead of India’s tour to Australia.”

The men in blue have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series having won the opening two T20Is quite convincingly. The visiting team was completely outplayed by five wickets in Kolkata and then courtesy a record fourth T20I century by Rohit Sharma, sealed the series in Lucknow by 71 runs.
With the series already in the bag, Rohit will be looking to test the bench strength. The likes of Shahbaz Nadeem and Washington Sundar, who have been with the squad since the first T20I and now they might find a chance in the final game.
