In the fourth ODI of the five-match ODI series against the visitors’ Windies at Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai) on Monday, India clinched a massive victory by 224 runs with the help of dual centuries and dominating bowling performances. In the reply of India’s 377/5 (50 overs), the visitors were bundled out for just 153 runs (36.2 overs).
Starting the game with the 1-1 margin of the five-match home ODI series, Indian skipper Virat Kohli decided to bat first after winning the toss. India had a good start as their openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan had a 71-run partnership.

After Dhawan was dismissed on 38 runs, the in-form Indian skipper Virat Kohli joined Rohit Sharma on the pitch. However, this time Kohli fell on a very cheap score as the Windies pacer Kemar Roach dismissed him on 16 runs.

It didn’t scratch on Rohit’s confidence as he carried the innings through a giant partnership with Ambati Rayudu. They had a massive 211-run partnership for the fourth wicket that set a massive first batting total for India.
Rohit again hit a century as well as another 150+ ODI knock. After completing his century in 98 balls, Rohit stretched his innings and completed 150 off 131 balls. Finally, the right-handed opening batsman was caught out on 162 off 137 balls (20 fours and 4 sixes).
Meanwhile, Rayudu also carried his innings to a brilliant century knock as he completed his third ODI century in 80 balls. However, in the very next ball, Rayudu lost his wicket through a run-out.
Wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni scored 23 off 15 balls while the comeback man Kedar Jadhav was not out on 16 off 7 balls and Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 7 off 4 balls. In a result of these knocks, India managed to score 377/5 at the end of 50 overs.
Among the Windies bowlers, Kemar Roach got two wickets, while Ashley Nurse and Keemo Paul picked up one wicket each. All the Windies bowlers were expensive in this innings.
In reply, Windies batting line-up was totally destroyed by the Indian bowlers. From the very beginning, the visitors’ batting seemed too shaky to chase down that huge target. Apart from the skipper Jason Holder’s fighting knock, there is nothing to say about Windies’ chase.

While Holder scored a half-century, none of other Windies batsmen reached the 20-run mark in that innings. The lower-order batsman & the skipper Holder played an unbeaten knock of 54 off 70 balls (only four and two sixes) and fought lonely till the end of the game. The second best knock in that innings was 19 by the no.10 batsman Keemo Paul. The lack of enough support from the other batsmen resulted to end Windies innings on just 153 runs (36.2 overs).
Among the Indian bowlers, the left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed (3/13) and the left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav (3/42) picked up three wickets each. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/30) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/39) claimed one wicket each while the other two wickets came from the run-outs.

Clinical performance by India, today. Was good to see the bowlers stepping up as well and was particularly happy to see the spell from young Khaleel after top knocks from Rohit and Rayudu earlier #IndvWI

I suspect Jason Holder is going to end up as a batting all-rounder. Certainly plays spin better than most.

A good all-round performance today by India. Khaleel Ahmed was brilliant in that spell and being a left-armer can become the third seamer for the world cup. Rayudu at 4 and Khaleel as third seamer might be few of the gaps that are needed to be filled #IndvWI

Wonder why Kohli is not giving the ball to Khaleel to finish this game. Handing trophies to youngsters isn't enough to boost their confidence, you gonna let them perform too. #INDvWI
