On Friday, the 15-man Indian squad has been announced for the last three ODIs of the ongoing five-match home ODI series against the Windies. The 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been retained in the ODI squad, who get to bat in the second ODI but failed to perform. However, the Indian selection committee headed by MSK Prasad decided to include the pocket dynamo Kedar Jadhav for the last two ODI matches of the series.
All-rounders Kedar Jadhav and Hardik Pandya ave still been excluded from the squad as it seems that they haven’t recovered from their respective injuries. So, Ravindra Jadeja stays in the ODI squad. Meanwhile, the Indian pacer Shardul Thakur has yet to be recovered from his injury and hence, Umesh Yadav has been retained for the remaining series.

Earlier on Friday, when asked about if he has received any communication from the selection committee over his exclusion from the last three games, Jadhav replied, “I did not know this. Let’s see. You are the first one to tell me this. I need to see why they have not picked me. I don’t know what the plan is now that I am not there in the team. Probably, I will be playing the Ranji Trophy.”

The young left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has also been retained, who made his international cricket debut during the Asia Cup 2018 and also impressed with his bowling performances. The front-line Indian pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have finally made a comeback in the squad, especially after the performance of the Indian pace attack in the first two ODIs, but Mohammed Shami has been dropped and it seems that he has been rested to manage his workload before the important tour to Australia.
