Indian selection committee headed by MSK Prasad announced India A squad for the upcoming four-day match series against Australia A. The selectors picked Shreyas Iyer as captain and KS Bharat as wicket-keeper. Kuldeep Yadav, who has been released from the Indian Test team, has been included in the ‘A’ squad to get the red-ball experience before Australia tour later this year.

The in-form pacer Mohammed Siraj also found his place in the 14-man squad. Another pacer in the team is Rajneesh Gurbani, who did well in the ongoing season of Duleep Trophy. Both the pacers have a big series ahead and they are expected to do well with the ball.

Alongside Kuldeep Yadav, the spinner Krishnappa Gowtham came in the place of Yuzvendra Chahal. The leggie expressed his desire to prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup, because of which the selectors have excluded him from the mix. Shahbaz Nadeem is another spinner who retained his place in the ‘A’ squad. Even Axar Patel wasn’t included as he’s busy with his county stint till mid-September.
