On Tuesday, a tragedy happened in Sri Lanka when an Indian schoolboy cricketer who went there to take part in a cricket tournament with his team, drowned while swimming in a pool at a hotel in Pamunugama.

According to the reports, the young lad belongs to Gujarat. He was swimming with three of his teammates in the pool at the Villa Palma hotel in Pamunugama. The police reports said that the boy had drowned in the pool and had died after taking him to the hospital.

The young cricketer was in Sri Lanka with 19 other players to take part in an under-17 cricket tournament. The case has been taken up by the Pamunugama police and they are currently investigating the incident. The post-mortem examinations took place on Wednesday.
