The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a record-breaking cash reward for the Indian team following their historic triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India not only lifted the trophy but also became the first team in the tournament’s history to successfully defend the title. With this victory, the India national cricket team now holds three T20 World Cup trophies — the most by any nation in the competition’s history.

The BCCI confirmed that the championship-winning squad will receive a massive ₹131 crore cash reward. India sealed the title with a dominant 96-run victory over the New Zealand national cricket team in the final held at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.
According to the board’s statement, the prize money will be distributed among the players, coaching staff, and support personnel who contributed to the team’s successful campaign. The BCCI congratulated the squad, support staff, and selectors for delivering another historic achievement for Indian cricket.

This generous reward surpasses the ₹125 crore prize money announced after India ended an 11-year ICC trophy drought by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. On that occasion, India defeated the South Africa national cricket team in a thrilling final in Bridgetown.
During the 2024 celebrations, each player from the 15-member squad received ₹5 crore. Members of the coaching staff, including former head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, and fielding coach T Dilip were awarded ₹2.5 crore each.
