England vs India – 4th ODI of India tour of England in 2011 (September 11, 2011)

It was a thrilling rain-affected ODI that had a tie result in the end. While England sent the Indian team to bat first, India lost their wickets in the regular interval in the first half. Suresh Raina and skipper MS Dhoni protected that innings with an impressive crucial 169-run partnership for the fifth wicket that helped the team put a good total of 280/5 on the board. Raina scored 84 runs while Dhoni remained unbeaten on 78 runs.

In reply, England top-orders lost their wickets cheaply, but Ian Bell and Ravi Bopara put back on the track their team with an impressive 98-run fourth-wicket partnership. At the end of the match, there were several interruptions due to the rain. While Bell was dismissed on 54 runs, Bell carried his innings from one side and lost his wicket in the final ball of the game on 96 runs before the final rain interruption occurred. At the end of the game, England scored 270/8 in 48.5 overs which was a tie result in the D/L method. Bopara and Raina both won the Player of the Match award in this thrilling encounter.
