England vs India – 3rd ODI of India tour of England in 2004 (September 5, 2004)
Prior to the 2004 Champions trophy in England, India played a three-match ODI series against the hosts England. After losing the first two games and also the ODI series, India played the third ODI at Lord’s. Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly decided to bat first after winning the toss, but India had very poor start as they went down to 48/3. After Ganguly and Rahul Dravid provided a crucial 93-run partnership for the fourth wicket, the team again suffered a massive batting collapse that finished their innings on 204 runs in 49.3 balls. Ganguly scored 90 runs while Dravid played a 52-run innings. English pacer Steve Harmison picked up four wickets in that innings.

In reply, England team lost their top wickets very quickly as they went down to 62/6. Despite the English skipper Michael Vaughan played a brilliant fighting knock of 74 runs, he failed to save the game for his team as England was bundled out for 181 runs in 48.2 overs. Indian pacer Ashish Nehra and spinner Harbhajan Singh claimed three wickets each in that low-scoring game, while the skipper Ganguly received the Player of the Match award.
