Team India will play their final match of their Sri Lanka tour as a T20I on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017.
The one-off T20I is scheduled to be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and will give India a chance to end their Sri Lanka tour on a high with 9-0 win over the hosts. Winning the T20I match will give India absolute supremacy on the tour.
Team India’s playing XI for the T20I seems to be a tricky situation for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli as he might get confused to either experiment or to go for a win. However, in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma might open for India. It will also be a good opportunity for the Indian team to kick start a winning habit in T20Is, with India playing a lots of T20 matches in coming months.
However, seeing the current form of Team India, only Rahul is looking out of touch and he must be looking to prove his worth in the shortest format of the game. Apart from Rahul, Axar Patel will also have a good chance to prove his mettle in T20s as well and even Jasprit Bumrah will get another chance to add to his 15 wickets on the tour.
Virat must be aiming to end the tour on a high by winning the only T20I, unlike the last time against West Indies, where they lost the T20I match without even putting up a fight. However, currently, the India team is in great form in all the department and even they are having an upper hand over Sri Lanka mentally as well after winning all the matches till now.
India’s predicted playing XI:
Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah
