The Board of Control for Cricket in India has confirmed India’s upcoming white-ball schedule, with the men’s team set to tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in July 2026. The matches will be played on July 23, 25, and 26 in Harare, marking India’s return to the African nation after a two-year gap.

Interestingly, the Zimbabwe series begins just four days after the conclusion of India’s tour of England, highlighting a packed international calendar. The England leg includes five T20Is and three ODIs, a crucial assignment as India continues to fine-tune combinations ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.

While India’s ODI and T20I squads are largely distinct, a few all-format players remain central to the team’s plans. Names like Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh continue to feature prominently. However, Bumrah is expected to be rested for bilateral T20Is, while players like Axar could play a key role across formats.

The Zimbabwe tour is also likely to provide opportunities for emerging talent. When India last toured Zimbabwe in 2024, players such as Abhishek Sharma, Dhruv Jurel, and Riyan Parag made their international debuts. A similar approach is expected this time, with standout performers from the IPL potentially earning national call-ups.

With a tight schedule and a focus on squad depth, the Zimbabwe series could serve as a valuable platform for India to test its bench strength while maintaining momentum in the shortest format.
