IPL 2018: CSK captain MS Dhoni receives a respectful salute from a dog

Former Indian World Cup and World T20-winning captain MS Dhoni is known as a huge dog-lover. In the ongoing IPL season, Dhoni has shown with the dogs in the stadium for multiple times. Recently, when Dhoni was playing with a dog on the ground, he got a respectful salute from that dog and his guard.

The incident happened in the recent game between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune) on last Sunday (May 13). After the end of the game, CSK captain MS Dhoni was playing with a security dog at the boundary side.

After that sweet moment, the guard instructed that dog to salute MS Dhoni which he followed with a sweet gesture. Besides that, the guard himself also saluted Dhoni.

Dhoni is a huge dog–lover who has many pet dogs and regularly posts their images and videos on his social media accounts.

In earlier this month (on May 5), Dhoni walked a dog into CSK’s dressing room after their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune). The team members also enjoyed that moment.

Coming back to the SRH game, CSK won that match comfortably by 8 wickets with 6 balls to spare and secured their place for the Play-off rounds. Currently, they are in the second position of the points table with 16 points at the end of their 12 games.

During the match, CSK captain MS Dhoni sent SRH to bat first after winning the toss. With the help of superb batting performances by the opener Shikhar Dhawan and no.3 skipper batsman Kane Williamson, SRH was able to put 179/4 on the board at the end of 20 overs.

In reply, CSK easily chased down that target after a superb opening partnership between the openers Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu. Rayudu was not out after completing his century as CSK reached the target in 19 overs after losing just 2 wickets. MS Dhoni also remained unbeaten at the other end with the 20-run knock off just 14 balls.

In the ongoing IPL 2018, MS Dhoni is in the superb form with the bat. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has already scored 413 runs in this season with an impressive 103.25 averages and 162.59 strike-rates. He has played three 50+ knocks in this IPL season while his highest knock in this season is 79* against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Mohali on April 15.
