According to a recent twitter post from Cricbuzz, the 39-year-old Protease leg-spinner will miss Sunday’s afternoon game against SRH at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad) due to mild illness. The overseas leggie is one of the regular players for CSK in this season as he has taken 4 wickets in the 4 matches in the ongoing IPL season.

In the 2018 IPL Auction, Tahir was bought by Chennai franchise for INR 1 crore.

Before the beginning of this IPL season, Tahir claimed that he is feeling lucky to be picked by CSK. In CSK website, he had told, “The passion of Chennai Super Kings fans makes me realise that I am in a special place. Every day has made me realise how lucky I am to have been picked up by CSK. It is vastly different from any franchise that I have played for.”

From the beginning of this season, CSK players are suffering from injuries, illnesses and other causes. Before the start of the season, left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner has been ruled out due to surgery.

After the opening game of this season, batsman Kedar Jadhav has been ruled out from the remaining matches of this season due to the hamstring injury. While opening batsman Murali Vijay missed the initial stage, Protease man Faf du Plessis availability is still unsure.

Another Protease pacer Lungi Ngidi is currently unavailable due to his returning home after his father’s demise.

One of the most-experienced CSK cricketers Suresh Raina missed one match due to his calf-muscle injury while skipper MS Dhoni suffered back pain injury but didn’t miss any matches yet.

However, these things have not affected much in their game as CSK is currently at the second position in the points table with 6 points in 4 matches.

Coming about the Sunday’s game, while Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, and Sam Billings are the almost certain overseas player for the away game clash, English pacer Mark Wood may return in the playing XI as the fourth overseas cricketer. Meanwhile, Karn Sharma should take the responsibility for the leg-spin duty in this game.

however, Faf du Plessis is replacing the veteran leg-spinner in the CSK squad.
