On Sunday night, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the IPL 2018 crown and it was the third IPL trophy victory for the Chennai franchise. Coming back from the two-year suspension, CSK cricketers got emotional and excited after winning this trophy.
In the final match, CSK claimed a comfortable 8-wicket victory (with 9 balls to spare) against the runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). CSK captain MS Dhoni decided to field first after winning the toss. With the help of some important knocks from the skipper Kane Williamson, Yusuf Pathan and Carlos Brathwaite, SRH managed to put 178/6 on the board at the end of 20 overs.
In reply, Shane Watson’s (117* off 57 balls) brilliant unbeaten century knock helped the team to secure a comfortable victory. That knock helped the team to chase down the target in 18.3 overs after losing just 2 wickets.
Just after the CSK batsman Ambati Rayudu hit the winning boundary, ‘the hero of the final’ Shane Watson got emotional on the field. While the other teammates were celebrating on the ground by centring him, Watson was feeling emotional and took some time to come out from that situation.

Watson was in the great form in this tournament as he scored total 555 runs (average 39.64) in this IPL season. He scored 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries in this season.
On the other hand, Suresh Raina also provided an important contribution in this tournament as well as the final match. In the final match, Raina provided an important 117-run partnership with Watson for the second wicket which set the game for the team. Raina himself scored 32 runs off 24 balls with 3 fours and only six.
Raina scored total 445 runs (average 37.08) in this season with 4 half-centuries. After receiving the trophy, Raina posted his exciting feelings on his Twitter account.
