Chennai Super Kings crushed the bowling of Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MCA Stadium, Pune to score a win over the table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad. With the start that Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu provided, there was no turning point of the match and they just cruised to a super win.

Set 180 runs to win, Chennai had to be caution in the beginning since there were rain clouds hanging around. A slow start or a break at any time could have brought D-L rule to work against Chennai but the openers were mindful of that. Watson and Rayudu, both who have been in a brilliant form this IPL, started off ferociously and SRH bowlers were taken aback.

Once Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu started assaulting the bowling, it looked like Chennai would win the match by 10 wickets. No bowler was able to take the wicket though. The first wicket that SRH took was courtesy of a runout as a tired Shane Watson failed to get his bat across the crease. He was out for 57 runs from 35 balls.

Rayudu is enjoying a stellar IPL season.

Suresh Raina failed cheaply and the next batsman MS Dhoni was welcomed with a huge applause. He started dealing in boundaries and carefully kept enough runs for Rayudu to make his maiden IPL century. Man in an impeccable form, Ambati Rayudu scored his century from 62 balls and remained not out. MS Dhoni at the other end took his IPL 2018 average beyond 100 and took the team home.

Chennai Super Kings with this win now are on 16 points with two matches to go while Sunrisers Hyderabad sits at 18 points in a similar situation.
