The social media giant, who known to invent ‘stories’, Snapchat also came in the IPL 2018 loop, as on Monday they announced their partnership with four teams. The partner IPL franchises, namely the Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Daredevils (DD), and Rajasthan Royals (RR), have joined Snapchat’s Official Stories. In order to increase engagement for these IPL teams, Snapchat has also additionally released a bunch of new creative tools.
Talking about the new tools, Snapchat has designed, custom Stickers, Filters, and Lenses, which will be more engaging for all the fans. Among other tools, IPL-focused Lenses will help the users to become a helmeted player with the team anthem playing the background. These Lenses are pushed automatically in each team’s state. In order to start the action, users will need to scan their favorite team’s Snapcode in Snapchat.

In order to find the snaps created by the four partner IPL teams, the user needs to go to the Discover section of the Snapchat app. These are promoted to provide fans with exclusive sights of the IPL games and some more action that won’t be available through other sources.
Describing the same, the Vice President of Partnerships, Snapchat, Ben Schwerin said, “We are so excited for Snapchatters to be able to catch behind the scenes action by their favorite players, cheers teams, and share in the IPL 2018 frenzy with their friends and family!”

Previously, Hotstar announced virtual reality (VR) streaming of IPL matches this year through its digital platform. Other telecom companies like Reliance Jio, BSNL, and Airtel also announced their offerings for IPL 2018. Moreover, the Airtel TV app started offering free IPL access through Hotstar.
