During the post-match ceremony, Kedar asserted that there are certain chances that he will be out of the tournament for a while, although the extent of the injury wasn’t clear then.
Talking about his injury Kedar said, “I might not play for the next couple of weeks. I could not run and I told Immy (Imran Tahir) I will take all six balls (in the final over). With six balls and seven runs, they were bowling same lengths and I just needed a big hit, (Imran Tahir) I will take all six balls (in the final over). The CSK team management is set to announce a replacement for him, but they have approached the English pacer David Willey and Adil Rashid as the replacement, but the confirmation is awaited. Jadhav’s injury might now force Ambati Rayudu to return to the middle order. He had opened the innings alongside Shane Watson against MI due to Faf du Plessis’s absence.
