During the 33rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Kolkata, Chennai Super Kings’ Lungi Ngidi drew first blood in the second innings after he dismissed Chris Lynn in the first over itself.

After Dinesh Karthik put the visitors in to bat, Chennai Super Kings scored 177-5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Their innings was powered by starts from four of their batsmen. Had even one of them went on to play a substantial innings, they would have registered a match-winning total.

Lynn got off the mark with a six.

The Knight Riders sent in Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine to open the batting. After watching a couple of deliveries, Lynn hit the third ball of the innings for a gigantic six. He followed it with another thumping hit over the bowler’s head.

On the last ball of the over, Lynn missed a leg-side heave as he ball went off his thigh to Shane Watson at first slip. MS Dhoni opted for a review after the umpire ruled the batsman not-out. The replays confirmed that the ball had hit Lynn’s bat before hitting his thigh. He ended up scoring 12 (6) with the help of two sixes.
