Murali Vijay
Despite winning the first two games of their comeback season, injury blows continue to hit the franchise as several CSK players are not match ready. Mitchell Santner and Kedar Jadhav are already ruled out of the tournament while Suresh Raina is not available for the next two games. There are concerns over the fitness of the Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis as well. Despite all these problems, one silver lining for the franchise is the fitness of Murali Vijay who has returned to full fitness and will be available for the next game.

Vijay suffered a niggle on his ribs during a net session ahead of the IPL opener against Mumbai Indians. The impact of the injury was such that Vijay could not get over the pain even after a week. In his absence, CSK decided to open with Ambati Rayudu who has done a decent job in the last two games. Rayudu will move down the order as Vijay has to come in the next game in the absence of Raina.
Murali Vijay has played 100 IPL matches so far for various franchises. He has scored 2511 runs in them with two centuries and 13 half-centuries.
