3. The Markande Factor

The unexpected hero of this season for Mumbai has been the youngster from Punjab, Mayank Markande. He was hardly on any radar before the IPL began, today he is sporting the Purple cap and is one of the most talked about topics in the IPL.

The little spinner took seven wickets in the first two matches. His most famous scalp in the first match was MS Dhoni who was completely bamboozled by the tricks of Markande. He took three wickets against  CSK and improved the effort against Hyderabad as he took four wickets.

The magical journey of the youngster faced its first speed breaker in the match against Delhi Daredevils where Markande was taken to the cleaners by DD batsmen. The youngster conceded 42 runs in his three overs. He will now have the challenge set against RCB batting.
