5. Old Warhorses – Yuvraj Singh and Chris Gayle
KXIP surprised everyone in a pleasant way in the IPL auction when they secured Yuvraj Singh for their team. Yuvraj Singh was the marquee player of Kings XI Punjab in the inaugural IPL so this was a nice gesture. Punjab also bought Chris Gayle at the very end of the IPL auction, he was selected from the list of unsold players.
Yuvraj Singh, who is 36-year old now, is not in the best form of his life. But knowing Yuvi, he can return to the form in no time. Often called as the cleanest hitter in the game, Yuvraj is blessed with the sweetest timing of the ball. In absence of Finch, he will have a few initial matches to cement his spot in the playing XI.
The Universe boss needs no introduction. Chris Gayle is the greatest legend of the T20 Cricket and it is a statement that not many will disagree with. However, as with all the mortals, the age has caught up with the Jamaican superstar also and he is not the first-choice pick anymore. It will be very interesting to see how he returns to y=the IPL this year after initially finding no-takers.
