With the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defending the lowest total of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Delhi Daredevils (DD), the playoffs doors seems to be nothing but closed for DD. However, the 23rd game of the 11th edition of the team will be played between the teams who are in dying need of a win, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Out of their first 5 games, MI has won just one match against Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at their home and that will be their only advantage against SRH.
Despite the fact that both MI and SRH have lost their respective last games, they have some surprise packages in their squad and let us have a look at such players of both the teams.
Mayank Markande (MI)
When the season began, the biggest worry for Mumbai Indians was the lack of an experienced spinner. Mayank Markande solved that problem and guess what, the young sensation is holding the purple cap. Mayank, who has got an excellent wrong ‘un, is the purple cap holder — given to the bowler with the most number of wickets — now and almost bowled Mumbai to victory in the opening two matches against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.
While the Punjab tweaker, 20, returned figures of 3/23 against CSK, he was superb against Sunrisers on last Thursday with taking four wickets and leaking just 23 runs. He was thrashed by Delhi batsmen but hopefully, he will come back strong against SRH again.
