In the 24th game of IPL 2018, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clinched another great victory after beating the hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru) on Wednesday night. RCB put 205/8 on the board in 20 overs while CSK reached the target remarkably in 19.4 overs after losing 5 wickets.
After winning the toss, CSK skipper MS Dhoni decided to field first. While RCB skipper and opener Virat Kohli (18 runs) departed after a modest start, RCB innings was superbly carried by another opener Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers. Both scored half-centuries and put a brilliant century partnership for the second wicket.
These two added 103-runs for the second wicket while de Kock was dismissed for 53 runs off 37 balls (1 four and 4 sixes) and de Villiers scored 68 runs off 30 balls (2 fours and 8 sixes). Their partnership set the momentum for RCB to cross the 200-run mark but later quick wickets falling made tough to succeed on that.
In that vital moment, Mandeep Singh played an important 32 runs knock off just 17 balls and Washington Sundar scored unbeaten 13 runs off just 4 balls at the end that helped them to get past 200 runs. RCB scored 205/8 at the end of 20 overs.
Among the CSK bowlers, Shardul Thakur (2/46), Imran Tahir (2/35) and Dwayne Bravo (2/33) claimed two wickets each.
In reply, CSK was once battling on 74/4. After that, opener Ambati Rayudu and skipper MS Dhoni provided a brilliant 101-run partnership for the fifth wicket which brought them back into the game. Before getting run-out, Rayudu scored a brilliant 82 runs off 53 balls with 3 fours and 8 sixes.
Dhoni took the full responsibility to provide his typical finishing knock while Dwayne Bravo supported him perfectly at the end. Dhoni was unbeaten on 70 runs off 34 balls (only four and 7 sixes) and finished the game with a sixer. Bravo was unbeaten on 14 runs off 7 balls with one four and one six.
Among the RCB bowlers, Yuzvendra Chahal (2/26) got two wickets while Pawan Negi (1/36) and Umesh Yadav (1/23) took one wicket each.

RCB's bowling is why it is called death bowling. They kill it, themselves.

Thank you Ambati Rayudu, what a team man. Bats where you want him to and plays like you want him too. Consistently good. He's filling brilliantly for Raina. And how well.

RCB's management. Whom so ever it includes. You need bowlers, RCB don't have more than 3 every year. https://t.co/RYALcpz8U9

3 quick wickets and CSK have been able to turn things around dramatically.Brave of MSD to toss ball to Imran Tahir after @ABdeVilliers17 had mauled him previous over. Tahir delivers not just ABD's wicket, but also Anderson. Inspired captaincy you'd say? #ReinventYourGame #RCBvCSK
