Shreyas Iyer, captaining for the first time in the IPL, will step out as the captain of Delhi Daredevils as they play their second home game of the season. Their opponents are the Kolkata Knight Riders, who have been well rested for five days. The Daredevils have lost five out of their six matches and are on oxygen while KKR despite the three wins and three losses looks quite positive on the outlook.

The most shocking announcement of the IPL so far came from the camp of Delhi Daredevils. It’s loved home boy Gautam Gambhir stepped down from the position of Captain in the aftermath of the consistent poor team performances. DD installed Shreyas Iyer as their new captain.
The move will be interesting as Iyer lacks the experience at the top level. He has captained teams briefly but not at the IPL level. the 23-year old has played 38 IPL games so far with 958 runs and 8 fifties.
