The team that is sitting comfortably right at the top of the points table is Chennai Super Kings. After serving the suspension for the last two years, CSK has arrived this IPL spectacularly and are bossing everyone with their batting strength. They now host Delhi Daredevils at Pune, their adopted home ground. With a new captain Shreyas Iyer at the helm, DD look like a rejuvenated team.

Shreyas Iyer’s form

The most shocking announcement of the IPL so far came from the camp of Delhi Daredevils. It’s loved home boy Gautam Gambhir stepped down from the position of Captain in the aftermath of the consistent poor team performances. DD installed Shreyas Iyer as their new captain and he started excellently with a match-winning innings against KKR.

 

Iyer was in a murderous mood against KKR the other night and smacked 29 runs in the last over of Shivam Mavi. Iyer’s highest score 93* came in just 40 balls. So far in the season, he has scored 244 runs with an average of 61 and a strike rate of 163. CSK will have to stop this maverick.
