In the 42nd game of IPL 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clinched a comfortable 9-wicket victory (7 balls to spare) against the hosts Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Feroz Shah Kotla (Delhi) on Thursday night.

Delhi captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat first after winning the toss. With the help of Rishabh Pant’s powerful unbeaten century knock, Delhi put a good total of 187 runs on the board for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

In reply, SRH easily chased down the target in 18.5 overs after losing just one wicket.

  • The second youngest cricketer to score an IPL century. The record holder is Manish Pandey who had hit an IPL century at the age of just 19 years and 253 days.

  • Highest IPL knock by a wicketkeeper-batsman. The previous record was 115* by Wriddhiman Saha (Kings XI Punjab) against Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru on June 1, 2014.
  • Highest IPL knock by an Indians batsman. The previous record was 127 by Murali Vijay (Chennai Super Kings) against Rajasthan Royals at Chennai on April 3, 2010.
  • Highest IPL knock by a DD batsman. The previous record was 119 by Virender Sehwag against Deccan Chargers at Hyderabad (Deccan) on May 5, 2011.
  • Highest IPL knock by any batsman against SRH. The previous record was 104* by Chris Gayle (Kings XI Punjab) at Mohali on April 19, 2018.
  • Highest individual score in IPL 2018. The previous record was 106 by Shane Watson (Chennai Super Kings) against Rajasthan Royals at Pune on April 20, 2018.

iii) DD batsman Rishabh Pant scored 68.45% runs of his team’s total.

  • The second highest percentage of team’s total runs scored by a batsman in the IPL history. The record is scoring 71.17% runs of team’s total by Brendon McCullum (scored 158* out of Kolkata Knight Riders’ total of 222/3) against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru on April 18, 2008.    

 

iv) At the age of 20 years and 218 days, Rishabh Pant completed 1,000 IPL runs and all for DD as he has scored total 1,085 runs in IPL career.

  • Youngest batsman to complete 1,000 runs in IPL career. The previous record holder was Sanju Samson who had achieved this feat at the age of 21 years and 183 days.
  • Seventh DD batsman to complete 1,000 IPL runs for the franchise. The other six DD players were Virender Sehwag (2,174 runs), David Warner (1,435 runs), Gautam Gambhir (1,182 runs), Shreyas Iyer (1,161 runs), Dinesh Karthik (1,036 runs) and JP Duminy (1,015 runs).

 

v) DD scored 187/5 at the end of 20 overs.

  • The second highest IPL total for DD against SRH. The highest is 189/4 in 19.1 overs at Delhi on May 2, 2017.

 

vi) SRH opener Shikhar Dhawan completed his half-century in 30 balls.

  • Fastest IPL half-century by an SRH batsman against DD. The previous record holder was Kane Williamson who had completed his half-century in 33 balls at Hyderabad (Deccan) on April 19, 2017.

vii) SRH batsmen Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson put an unbeaten 176 runs partnership for the second wicket.

  • Highest ever partnership for SRH. Their previous record was the 139-run partnership for the opening wicket between Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner against Kolkata Knight Riders at Hyderabad (Deccan) on April 30, 2017.
