Rajasthan Royals, who can very well be out of the playoffs race with even one loss, now find themselves hosting Chennai Super Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. CSK have won seven of their ten matches and are just a win away from making it to the playoffs. The two teams who missed the IPL actions for the last two years will face each other in this clash.
Chennai Super Kings
In the last match against Bangalore, five days ago, CSK inflicted a heavy loss on RCB which almost ended the Bangalore hopes of qualifying ahead. CSK bowling was bang on in the last match and Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers.
If Deepak Chahar is fit to return, he will take Shardul Thakur’s place. Dhruv Shorey may get another chance to prove himself.
Rajasthan Royals
After staring down the barrel for quite a time, the win against Kings XI Punjab will definitely boost the Rajasthan Royals team. They now need to win all the four remaining matches to qualify for the playoffs and this will be a stern test.
In the last match, Jos Buttler took the initiative and scored a brilliant 82 to take RR past a very good total. There bowling then managed to eke out early wickets and choked KXIP to win the match.
Royals finally gave up D’Arcy Short experiment and tried Rahane at the top with Jos Buttler. They also brought in Mahipal Lomror, Ish Sodhi and Stuart Binny by dropping Shreyas Gopal and Rahul Tripathi. Probable changes for this match are Dhawal Kulkarni and Shreyas Gopal in for Mahipal Lomror and Anureet Singh.
Probable XI-
Ajinkya Rahane (c), Stuart Binny, Anureet Singh/Dhawal Kulkarni, Jos Buttler (wk), Jaydev Unadkat, Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson, Ish Sodhi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Mahipal Lomror/Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer
