In the 53rd game of IPL 2018, the hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) clinched an important 30-run victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur) on Saturday evening.

RR captain Ajinkya Rahane decided to bat first after winning the toss. With the help of opener Rahul Tripathi’s brilliant responsible batting, RR managed to put 164/5 on the board at the end of 20 overs.

In reply, RCB was bundled out for just 134 runs in 19.2 overs after suffering a huge middle-order batting collapse.

  • Join most no. of ducks for an RR batsman in an IPL season. Previously, Shane Warne had three ducks in IPL 2009.

 

ii) RR opening batsman Rahul Tripathi was not out on 80 runs.

  • Third highest IPL knock by an RR batsman against RCB.

iv) RCB pacer Umesh Yadav had a bowling figure of 4-1-25-3.

  • The second RCB bowler to bowl a maiden over in IPL 2018. The first bowler was Yuzvendra Chahal against Chennai Super Kings at Pune on May 5. In overall, it was the ninth maiden over in IPL 2018.
  • The second best IPL bowling figure by an RCB bowler against RR at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). The record is 4-0-19-4 by KP Appanna on April 23, 2012.

v) RCB batsman AB de Villiers scored his third consecutive T20 half-century.

  • It was the first time for AB de Villiers to scoring three consecutive T20 half-centuries.

vi) RR wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen affected three stumping dismissals in RCB innings.

  • Joint most no.of stumping dismissals effected by a wicketkeeper in an IPL innings. Previously, MS Dhoni (2 times) and Robin Uthappa had achieved this feat.

vii) RCB skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for eight times by the spinners in IPL 2018

  • Joint most dismissals to spin bowlers in an IPL season. Previously, Adam Gilchrist (2009) and Rohit Sharma (2017) had been dismissed for eight times by the spinners in an IPL season.  

 

viii) RCB was bundled out for just 134 runs in 19.2 overs.

  • The second lowest IPL total for RCB against RR at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). The lowest total is 132/9 (20 overs) on May 17, 2008.
