Delhi Daredevils

Rishabh Pant, Chris Morris, Shreyas Iyer

With the lack of silverware in the Trophy cabinet, Delhi’s aim this year was to make sure that they have a knock at the finals. Their two retentions were quite obvious. First was the dynamic young wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant. The choice has proven out to be an excellent one. Pant won the orange cap for a brief while and is winning DD matches.

Chris Morris had a right to be retained with an incredible career strike rate of 166 and 56 wickets. But this season, in the four matches that he played, Morris could not perform better than expected. Sadly, he was injured in mid-way of the season and had to return to South Africa.

The new captain this season for Delhi Daredevils is Shreyas Iyer. Batting wise also, Iyer has done incredible, his stats speak for themselves. In the 9 matches so far, Iyer has scored 351 runs with an average over 50 with a strike rate of 150 and 4 fifties.
