Sunrisers Hyderabad had both the orange cap and the purple cap winner in their team so they retained both of them. Unfortunately, David Warner was a part of the guilty ball-tampering trio and was not allowed in the IPL.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was an obvious choice for retention, he has developed himself exponentially in the last year or so. In this IPL, he has played only five matches with an economy of 7.15 with 6 wickets. Sadly for SRH, he has been injured and missed out on few of the matches.
