First two names need no discussion. They were the most obvious retentions of the IPL 2018 season. Two of the best batsmen in the world and Bangalore had to retain them. ABD has lighted up the IPL this season twice and has won matches for RCB. Virat has tried his best but his solo efforts have not been enough.

The biggest disappointment of the season was without a doubt, Sarfaraz Khan. After being retained, he had to deliver on the team confidence bu the failed miserably. Sarfaraz played only three matches and scored only 11 runs in the 17 balls he faced. RCB would be looking back at the decision with a tinge of regret.
