Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni played mind-boggling innings of 79 runs against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Despite his knock, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) failed to go over the line as Dhoni was carrying the back injury during those innings and he took a treatment for it as well on the ground during innings to get relief from the pain.

The fans wouldn’t have asked anything more from the CSK captain. CSK lost the match by 4 runs but fans were delighted to see the skipper back into the old colors. Now, CSK has shifted their home from Chennai to Pune because of political tensions. The protesters threw shoes into the stadium in their first home game at Chepauk which forced the management to shift the home matches out of the city. CSK have already started training in their new fortress. But the skipper of the side was not seen during the training session. During the post-match presentation, Dhoni said that it was a minor injury, and he should be fit for their next games.

However, as per the reports of Sportsrush, the bad news is that Mahi’s absence in the training session has raised a lot of concerns about his participation in the game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday. The CSK team management has not spoken anything about the injury of Dhoni and his participation in the next games. The franchise has already lost Kedar Jadhav due to the injury and Faf Du Plessis fitness is still under check-up.

Meanwhile, the good news for CSK side and fans is that Suresh Raina was seen during the training sessions. He had injured himself during their second game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He ruled out for 10 days or so and missed the epic game against KXIP. He was seen practicing with the teammates without any issues or discomfort.

CSK has moved to Pune now and the pitch there doesn’t support spinners generally. However, spinners have been the strength of the side; it will be interesting to see their line-up in the match against RR on Sunday.
