During the 33rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Piyush Chawla bowled a googly to baffle Faf du Plessis.
Dinesh Karthik, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, had won the toss and chose to field. Knight Riders had included Rinku Singh in the playing eleven in place of Nitish Rana. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings fielded an unchanged playing eleven.
Chennai Super Kings’ openers laid a strong foundation in the powerplay. Both Shane Watson and du Plessis looked set to play substantial innings. Chawla, who opened the bowling for the Knight Riders, alongside Mitchell Johnson picked up the first wicket for his team.
It happened on the first delivery of the sixth over when Chawla’s googly went past du Plessis inside edge to hit his stumps. He ended up scoring 27 (15) with the help of four fours and a six. Watch the full video:
