On Wednesday night, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni played a brilliant unbeaten 70 runs knock against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to secure a remarkable victory for his team. Former CSK off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife Prithi Ashwin tweeted on the morning which showed her craze for Dhoni’s batting.
After winning the toss on Wednesday night match, CSK skipper MS Dhoni decided to field first. With the help of opener Quinton de Kock (53 runs off 37 balls) and no.3 batsman AB de Villiers’ (68 runs off 30 balls) brilliant smashing knocks, RCB put a total of 205/8 on the board at the end of 20 overs.
Chasing a big total, CSK was once struggling for 74/4 in 9 overs. Since then, opener Ambati Rayudu and skipper MS Dhoni put a game-changing 101-run partnership for the fifth wicket. That partnership helped the team to comeback strongly in the game as they finished that successfully after MS Dhoni provided another familiar finishing batting performance in the game.
While Rayudu batted superbly as he scored 82 runs off 53 balls with 3 fours and 8 sixes, MS Dhoni came to bat at the important time and finished the game in his style. The 36-year-old right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman was unbeaten on 70 runs off 34 balls (only four and 7 sixes) and finished the game with a sixer. In the end, Dhoni was awarded Player of the Match for his superb batting performance.
Former CSK off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s wife Prithi Ashwin is known as a cricket fan. However, she missed Dhoni’s superb finishing knock in the last night due to her early sleep. On the next day, she took the Twitter to express her thought about the last night game which she remarked as ‘worst nights’ due to missing to watch that game.
She wrote on her Twitter account, “I just caught up on last nights match and OMG WHAT DID I JUST MISS. I pick the worst nights to sleep early.”
