During the 36th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils’ Prithvi Shaw impressed one and all after he scored his second IPL half-century.

Shreyas Iyer, captain of Delhi Daredevils, had won the toss and chose to bat. Delhi Daredevils had included Naman Ojha and Daniel Christian into their playing eleven in place of Colin Munro and Shahbaz Nadeem. In something which came as a relief for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his way back in the team in place of Basil Thampi.

In Glenn Maxwell, Shaw walked in with a new opening partner. Maxwell’s dismissal in the second over had no effect whatsoever on Shaw. He played his natural attacking game. Siddarth Kaul, who was introduced into the attack to bowl the last over of the powerplay, went for 20 runs in his first over after Shaw bashed him for a six and three fours in the over. Watch the highlights:

The Daredevils had scored 60-1 in the powerplay. Out of which, Shaw had scored 48* (23). On the fourth delivery of the seventh over, with a single off Shakib Al Hasan to deep midwicket, Shaw reached to hit half-century. He eventually got out on the first delivery of the 11th over after mis-timing a sweep to Kaul at short third-man off Rashid Khan.

Shaw ended up scoring 65 (36) with the help of six fours and three sixes. Watch the video of his dismissal:
